About the Project

Há Direito

Together with André Moreira Simões, I founded Há Direito with a clear purpose: to make the law more accessible, understandable and useful to people, regardless of their socioeconomic background.

Through sessions in schools, universities and social housing neighbourhoods, we sought to promote legal literacy and demonstrate how understanding the law can empower people to participate more actively in society.

3 Milhões de Nós

Addressing an audience of more than 1,000 young people at Lisbon’s Aula Magna, I shared personal experiences and lessons that helped shape who I am today.

Beyond sharing my own story, I wanted to encourage them to challenge prejudice, look beyond labels and see people for who they truly are.

UNICEF

At the invitation of UNICEF Portugal, I took part in the second Direitos ao Futuro conference, where I joined teachers in highlighting the important role schools play in promoting social mobility.

Based on a legal analysis of the framework governing schools participating in Portugal’s TEIP programme, I advocated for more effective measures and action plans to reduce inequality and create meaningful opportunities for all children and young people.

Financial Literacy

At the NOVA Financial Markets Knowledge Centre, a research centre at NOVA School of Law, I led the value creation area, developing initiatives and establishing partnerships with financial sector organisations to promote financial literacy among young people.

One of these initiatives helped children and young people in residential care learn how to manage their allowance, save money and make informed everyday financial decisions.

Open Worlds

When I was invited to develop an initiative that would expose young people to new professional and educational environments, I created Open Worlds, a project I continue to coordinate today.

Through guided experiences, mentoring and skills development, we aim to help young people explore new interests, build confidence and discover opportunities they may not previously have considered.
